It was an exciting 3 days at the home of GNGU, Irene CC. The first day was chilly and windy, and the course seemed to play tough. The second day, very wet, but proving to be easier conditions than the first. With everything to play for in the final 2 rounds on the 3rd day, there was some exciting golf to watch. Unfortunately, due to 2 lightning delays, the tournament had to be reduced to 54 holes. Woodhill CC’s Fabrizio de Abreu proved that consistency is key and with rounds of 68, 70, 70 lifted the trophy on -5, 3 shots clear of his nearest competitor.
