The Gauteng North Golf Union Women’s Open delivered a superb week of golf at Pretoria Country Club, where competitors were tested by a demanding course setup that challenged every aspect of their game.
In the B Division, Dane Gerber of Fancourt Golf Estate produced an excellent performance to claim victory. Gerber finished on a total of 259, edging out Veneshka Stofberg by a single shot in a closely contested battle.
The standout performance of the tournament, however, belonged to George Golf Club’s Isabella Ferreira. Returning as the defending champion, Ferreira once again demonstrated why she is one of the Country’s leading amateur golfers. She cruised to victory in the A Division, successfully defending her title with rounds of exceptional quality. Finishing on 205 Ferreira secured the championship by 5 shots ahead of Charlotte Millard, who claimed the runner-up position.
The GNGU extends its sincere thanks to Pretoria Country Club for their hospitality and for presenting a golf course in excellent condition. The championship venue provided a true test of skill and ensured a memorable tournament for all involved.
Finally, thank you to all the players who participated and contributed to another successful Women’s Open. The quality of golf, sportsmanship, and competitive spirit displayed throughout the week once again highlighted the strength of women’s amateur golf in South Africa.
