Q: Who is permitted to enter GNGU Junior Tournaments?
A: All juniors under the age of 19 that are handicapped at a club in GNGU are permitted to enter.
Q: It there an additional cost to register to play in the GNGU Junior Tournaments?
A: No additional cost to register. Affiliation fees get charged with membership at your club. The only fee payable is the tournament entry fee.
Q: Where can I enter GNGU Junior events?
A: Via the GNGU website, click on the junior tab, click on tournaments
Q: When does the tournament entry open and close?
A: Entries open 1 month prior to tournament date.
Entries closed 7 days prior to tournament at 9h00 am.
Q: How does the payment work?
A: Payments must be done via EFT and need to accompany entry. Entry is only complete when payment has been done.
Q: What is the cost per tournament?
A: The 2026 Junior 18 & 36 Hole rate is R315 per tournament.
Q: What is included in the tournament fee?
A: Player green fee and tournament operational costs. Caddies, food and refreshments are for players own account.
Q: Who is permitted to Caddy?
A: Only local club (registered caddy at host venue) caddies are permitted to caddy.
No parents, friends or outside caddies are permitted to caddy.
Q: Are spectators permitted?
A: Yes, spectators are permitted. They need to remain 30m away from play and are not permitted to give advice in any form (verbal or signals). Spectators to remain off all tees, greens and fairways.
Leagues:
Q: How do I get involved in Junior Leagues?
A: You need to contact the junior coordinator at your home club.
Schools Golf:
Q: How do schools golf work in GNGU?
A: Both primary schools and high schools leagues are run by their own committees.
